CHINA TEAPOT WORTH £500.
A teapot which is worth more than ten times its weight in gold is one of the most remarkable pieces in the famous Trapnell collection of British porcelain, which has been purchased by Mr Albert Amor.
This teapot, which is part of a service presented to Mrs Burke to commemorate Ed.-nund Burkes return to Parliament, weighs about 16ozs, equal to 53 sovereigns. About five years ago the teapot was purchased for nearly £500, and its value is now ii.ore than ten t'mes its weigat in sovereigns. The sugar lasin and cover in the Eurke tea service weigh 57 sovereigns, n.ilk jug and cover, 35 sovereigns; and, taken all round, the service alone will be worth about eight to ton times its weight in gold.
The Trapnell collection cost its late cwner, about £15,000.
