ARMLESS ARTIST.
GIB-Tv BORN WITHOUT LIMBS WHO PAINTS PICTURES. There is a girl in Scarborough who is a striking example of the triumph of perseverance ever apparently insurmountable obstacles. Miss Ada Walton, who lives at 32, Commercialstreet, was born without arms and legs, yet in the week she was busy painting beautiful Christmas cards, the paint brush being held between fcer teeth. Sus has also painted a number of pictures which are very creditable considering the sreut disadvantages under which she labors, and the Jfccrtr.that she only took ap the art of painting about a year ago, and is still receiving lessons.
She picks up the brush with her t*£f!h as easily as: a person would pick up a pencil with the fingers, twists it into position, and, with her oils befr.re her, works happily on the canvas. She has sold several paintings already.
Before taking up painting she busied herself learning to knit ana crochet, and to read and write, and is pardonably a little proud of the work she can do. It was impossible for her to attend school, and she picked up reading, writing and other educational accomplishments mainly from the other children of the family.
She is fond of reading,*? and her writing, done with the pen between her teeth, is round and clear . She feeds herself, and about the only thing she cannot do without assistance is to dress.
