STOCK SALES

Messrs Wilson and Wilson report as follows: — We held our usual monthly sale at our Junction yards, Whangarei, on Thursday, February Bth, when the full number of advertised cattle came forward. About sixty head of beef were penned and realised as follows: — Steers, £6 to £6 15/-; fat cows, £4 10/- to £5 10/-; springers (only a
small yarding and showing quality and forward) were in good demand, and sold from £5 to £6 5/-; backward sorts, £4 to £5; grown steers sold up to £6 5/-; 2 to 2%-year-olds, £4 7/6 to £5/5: iB-months steers, £3 f«/- to £3 15/-; heifers, 18-mcnths to 2-year-olds, £3 to £3 10/-; store cows, £3 to £4; calves, £1 5/- to £2 ("./- the latter price being obtained for a choice line of Devon Shorthorn rteer calves. Our sheep f.-i> will be held on Wednesday next, the 21st We have a good entry of first-class iwo-tooth ewes from some of. the best breeders in the North Island.
