THE COMMANDANT.
VISIT TO WHANGAREI
The- military Commandant, MajorGeneral Godley, will arrive at the Springs Hotel, Kamo, from Tangiteroria this evening, and he will be mot there by the Mayor, Lieut-Colonel Steadman, and Major Mackesy.
To-morrow the Commandant will visit Kawakawa by special train, and Mayor has irvited the citizens and particularly the heads of busine--.s firms to meet liim at 5 p.m. to-morrow in the Drill Hall. In the evening Major-General Godley, Mrs Godley aid Captain Melville will' attend the' performance of "The Geisha" in the Theatre and in all probability the party will return to Auckland by the Nga--1 uhi on Thursday.
