ADELAIDE, April 10.

Edmondson, the notorious sheep, thief of Tantanoola, has been sentenced to six years' hard labor for killing 76 sheep with intent to steal.

At the hearing of the charge against Edmondson on January 18th, in connection with the Tantanoola sheepstealing, a witness deposed that he waa induced to join the accused by the statement that he could make £4 or £5 daily. Under the pretext of trap-r----ping rabbits Edmondson' shot sheep belonging to flocks in the vicinity, and witness skinned them. The skina were consigned to Adelaide. At other times they put up temporary yards, ran in sheep, and killed them ill batches. The practice had been going, on since August last* .
