N.S. WALES BOOT TRADE.

A CRISIS PENDING.

(Received April 11, 8.41 a.m.) SYDNEY, April 10. Trouble is brewing in the boot trade in New South Wales.

Mr Johnstone, secretary cf the Boot Trade Council, has resigned as a protest against the recent Wages Board award, which allowed the employment of women on skirving machines.

The Union claims that the work can bo done by apprentices, therefore there is no need to employ female labor.

It threatens to call out the employees of firms who persist in carrying the award into effect.
