OVER ONE HUNDRED VICTIMS,
The death roll at the Banner mino disaster exceeds one hundred all told.
Very few bodies will be recoverable, because of: black damp. The victims are mostly negro convicts.
Forty-five workers, noticing th-3 black damp, dashed in the direction of the shaft and were rescued in the nick of time.
