FRENCH AND SPANISH INTERESTS.
PARIS, April 9.
M. Cruppi, Minister for Foreign Affairs, speaking injthe Senate, said that if the situation at Fez became difficult he would take the necessary measures, within the provisions of the Algeciras Act, to ensure the security of Europeans.
MADRID, April 9,
Signor Prieto, Minister for Foreign Affairs, informed the Senate that Spain and France had offered each other mutual and efficient support ia Morocco.
Signor Canalejas, the Premier, in thu Chamber, said that France had intimated that the time had come to make preparations in anticipation of events in Morocco. The Spanish Government would take all requisite measures in. Spanish possessions and wherever Spanish instructors were stationed.
A special telegram to tlie "Advocate" from Kawakawa this afternoon states that a man named Palmer, who was married and had a family, committee! ■ suicide last midnight at Scoria Plat by hanging himself. No further details are available.
