CAPETOWN, April 8.
In the Assembly, Mr Silburn contend that the Union's contribution ta the Imperial Navy should be based o;i the volume of" seaborne traffic.
} Mr Merrimah declared that tinpot j , navies were a source of weakness in war and of danger in peace. He sug- | gested the abolition of Britain's preference, and the application of extra j revenue to support the British Navy. ' The question of the Declaration of ■ London was most abstruse, and coulil be safely left to the Imperial Government.
Mr Jagger said that the Dominion should be represented separately in Britain upon the Supreme Prize Court.
Mr Smut's reply was non-committal. He said that the naval contribution would not be discussed at the Imperial Conference.
