The Federal Government has decided to change the name of the Northern Territory capital from Palmersion to DarAvin.

The Broken Hill Proprietary Company's mine, after a stoppage for two years, has restarted productive Avork underground. This will give employment to a large number of hands.
PRICE OF BRICKS,
SYDNEY, Feb. 18
The leading brickmakers declare that Mr Griffiths' brickworks scheme is impracticable, and the proposed celling price at 30 shillings per thousand is impossible without loss.
SALE OF A WRECK.
MELBOURNE, Feb. 17. The wreck of the Speculant has been sold for £15. COMMONWEALTH GRANTS STATE LOAN.
MELBOURNE, Feb. 17
The Federal Treasurer to-day buys £200,000 Victorian 3% per cent, stock at £98. Subsequently he will buy £100,000 per month, until £1,000,000 has been invested.
