Shiel and Co., auctioneers, Stafford-street, Dunedin, submit the following report for the week ending December 15th: — An excellent demand is being experienced for all shipments of fruit, and consignors will do well to rote that steamers leave Auckland every Saturday and Tuesday, and consignments must be at the ship's side twentyfour hours before sailing time. Our Auckland branch address 25, Fortstreet, will attend to any forwarding on clients 'behalf. Account sales and cheques will be sent every week, and telegraphic advice as soon as sales are completed. Cucumbers.—Choice hothouse, market improving. Cases containing 10 to 12, 8s to 9s Gd per case. Tomatoes.—Excellent demand for North Island grown, readily saleable from lOd to Is Id per lb., according to quality. Prices will improve from now till New Year. I Gooseberries.—Large green, 2*_d !per lb; large dessert, up to sd. Bananas. —Ripe, 5d per lb.; green, 9 inch cases. Raratonga, to arrive, 15s; Fiji, 20s to 225., Pines.—lsland, 10s to lis; extra choice, up to 12s. Plums.—First arrivals are commanding excellent rates. We quote: Cherry plums, per quarter case, 6s to Cs 9d; early Japanese fruit, 5s 6d to 7s; dark fruit, up to 4d per lb. Apples.—Market is fully supplied with American fruit, which is not arriving in the best of condition. Choice, lis to 12s 6d case. Peaches and Apricots.—Teviot are not expected to be forward until after New Year. We quote: 201b. boxes. 6s 6d to 7s 3d; peaches, up to Bs. Potatoes.—Supplies steady. Auckland grown, cases, 15s to 17s; bags ; 32s to 14s. Onions.—New globes, £8 to £9 per ton. Grain. —Steady market; very light supplies. We quote: Whole fowl wheat, 3s 5d to 3s 6d; broken 3s to 3s 2d. Barley.—Feed, 2s 6d. Oats.—Heavy Algerians, 2s 6d; A. Garton's, 2s 5%d; B. Garton's, A. Sparrows, 2s sd; black oats, 2s sd.
