WILLESDEN DISASTER.
THREE DEAD.
(Received December S, 9 a.m.)
LONDON, Dec. 7.
The accident at Willesden Junction, when two passengers were killed and 30 injured in a rear end collision i>etween a slow train and an express was due to a question regarding Lht signals of the first train, which had been detained for an examination of tickets.
r : he other should have been signalled to stop until the line was clear, but the driver declares that no such sigo.al was given, and the curve prevented him from seeing the stationary train until it was too late. He applied the brakes in the quickest possible time.
In view of the enormous number of trains arriving and leaving London daily the accident has created a very unpleasant impression.
Later: Another injured person has expired, making the death roll three.
