SHARK SHOT IN THORNDON i BATHS.

WELLINGTON, Dec. 8,

Considerable «*citement was caused at the Thorndon Baths yesterday by the presence inside the enclosure of a shark five feet long. The caretaker ami others had been in swimming and on emerging the former noticed thfi shark and went and got a rifle and fired three shots at the monster. Ali the shots took effect and after two hours the shark was fished out by means of a boathook and was evet then not quite dead.

When the b.ute was killed, swimming by the public was resumed as if nothing had happened.

It is believer! that the shark grubbed its way in through the bottom of the protective fence.
