PENSIONS FOR FRENCH WORKMEN.

PARIS, Sept. 20. .
M. Cochery, Minister of Finance, proposes to raise £1,812,000 for workmen's pensions by means of taxing on. a higher scale the estates of persons leaving fewer than three children or descendants, which is expected to yield £80,000; also by revision of the registration ' and stamp duties, from which £1,152,000 is estimated to accrue.
