RAILWAY DIRECTOR KILLED. By Electric Telegraph .--l'rcss Association.—Cbp^right. Received September 22, 9.35 a.m. London, September 21. -.: In connection w% the tram disaster fehere were 12 deaths. Including that of Mr Philipson, a W&Qtor of the North Eastern Railway, ana 16 were injured, eigh* severely. All the signals wera against the train, which ran through tjet points on the Nottingham line, and thje curve being sharp, was derailed, as in i&p case of the Salisbury accident. Forty mail bags were burned. The brakes wero perfect. It is supposed that the connecting rod -brolce on the train approaching Grantham, or that the driver forgot to stops *The wreckage Was ablaze for hours.
