Train Derailed.
Wawganui, January 26. The engine of a train from Hawera, with 60 excursionists returning from, the Band Contest aboard, was derailed at Momohaki, carrying the leading passenger cars with it. Those 1 : in the front cars bad a narrow esoape*. The cause of the accident is prbßably due to the car following- the engine jumping the points and running on a sidetrack. , >, : The engine is badly damaged, -and the permanent way is torn up for*© yards. "; ■'•<";. The accident happened about midnight, and the passengers reached here at 6.20 this morning.
