FARMERS' UNION.

Messrs J. Donaldson, 0. Hawken, J. Griffin, and G. H. Minchin. It was agreed that while ordinary members could attend only delegates would be allowed to vote with the same voting power for each branch. Mr Griffin moved that this meeting of the Whangarei branch places" on record its great regret at the^ death of its late president Mr J. Wright and its high appreciation of his valuable services to the cause of the New Zea- • land Farmers' Union. In eecpjnding this Mi r Minchin paid a high tribute to the late president's work, for the Union, and the motion was duly agreed to. "The President brought Up the matter of a standing advertisement in the Northern Advocate but m«tfbers • generally didn't approve of this, and it was not suppott«-d. This being nil the business the conference of delegates then commenced its sittings.
