The Northern Advocate. TUESDAY, AUGUST 26, 1902. BOER WORSHIP.
We ventured to declare, when Mr Seddon left forEnglandamid a chorus of sneers from New Zealand, echoed by some pretty smart satire cabled to us from Home, that in London, it would provein spite of everything and everybody, and when all was said that could be said or sung, acase of " Eclipse first and the rest, nowhere." This has been so ; and although just at present, another howl has been raised in reference to some very jpithy remarks that our Premier has uttered about the danger of Boer worship, when the froth has blown off, people we think will agree, that this hubtling, effervescent, adulation of Botha, De la Rey aad De Wet, is much to be regretted. To frankly welcome the brave men who have, fought so well against us, is all well J^iough, but we believe the warning pf Mr Seddon .is wise. And alreaMßer" wisdom of thSS^rning i¥ ejd^^Bghealtered note f rom. Qouth^^p^^^^^^^^^^l It appears to ua^i^^^^^^^^B followed, a 6 it app^T tcTusto^^j plainly common sense. .
