# NGtrNGtmu. March 22". The first truck of coal goes down the tram line from Messrs Ford & Co.'s mines on Saturday morning next. We shall be pleased to receive visitors on tho occasion to wish us all success. Mr L. P. Armitage, Mine Manager, has erected a very charming house on Primrose Hill, and we rather envy his site on account of the different views all round. His twodaughters arrive to-day in Whangarei from Auckland, and from there our Mr Beresford will bring them out here to their new home. Portuguese road looks all progress, several houses nearly finished with their gardens pegged out and in course of of formation. On Saturday evening Mrs J. M. Callaghan and Mr Ledinghum give their firsfe dance, a fall report will be furnished you for next week's issue. — Correspondent).
