THE OTAIKA SOIREE.
This annual gathering which took place on Thursday, the 27th November was a great success, and a very pleasant evening was spent. Tho catering was entruste'l to Mr F. Freeman, of Kamo, who left nothing to be desired. The following ladies presided over the tea tables :— No. 1, the Misses Vyle ; No. 4, Mrs Frriser and Miss Edge ; No. 3, the Misses Gunson ; No. 4, Miss Bowen and Miss Reynolds. The following gentlemen kindly took part in the concert : — Messrs Tucker, Fuller, Beresford, Girdler, O'Hearn and Evans. The hall was subsequently cleared for dancing:, which was kept up with the usual amount of spirit until 2 a.ru.
