MARRIAGE OF MR ELLIOTT TO MISS JESSIE GRIFFIN.
A very pretty and interesting ceremony took placo here on Wednesday, tho marriage of Mr Frank Elliott to Miss Jessie Griffin, at English Church, which was crowded with friends of thebride and bridegroom. Tho marriage service was peformed by Rev. Mr Hawkes, who presented the happy couple with a handsome Bible on the occasion, this being the first wedding in the church. The bride, who was charmingly attired in a cream sateen dress, and the conventional wreath and veil, was given away by her father, Mr Jonathan Griffin. The bridesmaids, of whom there were six, looked extremely nice, two being in white, two in pink, and two in cream dresses, each carrying bouquets of flowers. Tho wedding party, after the service, were driven to the residence of tho brido's father, at the Waitau, were a most ample breakfast was provided. The rest of the day and evening was devoted to games of various kinds, and a vory happy and pleasant time was spent by all. The bride who was very popular with the residents of Kamo was the recipient of many handj some and useful presents. Mr and Mrs Frank Elliott took their departure on horseback, on Thursday, for their new home, in tho wilderness beyond Apoto. | THE MORGON TESTIMONIAL. There yet Jemains a sum of about £7 I to be made up to complete the Morgon Testimonial Jund, and it is proposed to give a concert for this purpose, in the Kamo Hall, &a "Wednesday, oth December. A mosMattractivo programme is in preparation, Tand it is to be hoped that those who knbw and admired the late Mr Morgon wilßrespoiid heartily to the call. TK CHORAL SOCIETY. I would {& the members of the Choral Society to»>ll up in strong force next and every Mccecding Monday. Do not let it die 6yt. The society has several charming u»rceaux in its repretoiro now, and lookuflLat the success with which the recent^Brvice of song at the chapel was given^w will be very discreditable if the membeiys of the Choral Society do not energetically woik together. jf Phllos.
