EARTHQUAKE AT NEW HEBRIDES.
Sydney, September 6. News reached here of a severe earthquake occurred last month in the New Hebrides group of lolands. The shock was a very violent one, and lasted several minutes. It is feared that great damage is done at some of the Islands, from which no tidings have been received, so far as at present known the earthquake was most severe at the Island of Tanna. It is reported that Port Eesolution has been blocked up by submarine disturbance.
