FOOTBALL.
We are pleased to see that the Whangarei Football Club are exerting themselves in the direction of matches. Efforts are being madi to effect a meeting between a team from Maungakaramea and a Whangarei team on Thursday next, and arrangements are already completed for a, match on Saturday, the 22nd in&, Gordon v. Whangarei. The character of the Gordon Club is such that the Whangarei team will have to go in for earnest practice if they inteid to make anything like a stand, and sore a win.
