Auckland, Friday. GRAIN MARKET. Wheat, Southern, 3/6 to 3/7 ; local, 3/2 to 3/3 ; oats, milling, 2/8 ; short feed, 2/6 ; potatoes, Oamaru, (nominal) 95/, Canterbury 80/, local 70/. S-LOTTR. The price of eggs has gone down to /6 per dozen wholesale, /8 retail ; butter is coming in very plentitul, and the price of best dairy butter has gone down to 1/ per lb. wholesale, 1/3 retail. Anchor brand has advanced to 1/6 per lb. wholesale, so that settlers have a contrast presented them of private daries' butter sinking in price, while the price of the factory made article advances. KAURI GUM MARKET. Gum market steadier, supplies for 23 days of August are about 520 tons. Pair ordinary, 27s to 295, best ordin* ary 30/ ; East Coast 43/ to 44/. MR. ALFRED BUOKLAND'S REPORT. During the past week, fodder has varied in price with condition and quality from 1/3 to 2/ per cwt, chaff £2 5/ to £2 15/ per ton ; maize 2/3 to 2/7 ; short oats 2/ to 2/4. On Friday, horse stock sold in greater numbers than usual, at improved values. At Eemuara on Thursday, dairy cows were dull of sale, and prices ranged from £1 2/6 to £5 5/. Store cattle in fresh condition sold well, but backward cattle were lower in price than last week. Fat cattle in less than average number, sold irregularly, and heavy cattle were at lower values fully 10/ each, but light weights maintained last week's prices. | Steers from .14/ to 16/ per lOOlbs. A draft of 70 steers from the West Coast averaged £6 4/. Sheep in full numbers generally at lower values from 1/ to 2/ each. A few pens of choice quality only realising last weeks' values. A draft of wethers from the • West Coast averaged 13/6. A few early fat lambs were yarded, the prices ranged from 7/6 to 13/ each. Pigs in usual numbers, in demand at satisfactory prices.
