FOOTBALL.
* The match between a Thames fifteen and the Auckland JElepresentatives feventnated on Saturday « before about 1000 persons. From the kick off Auckland had all the best of the game and finally won by 15 points to three. At Melbourne on Saturday Warbrick's ! native football team played a match against a Melbourne fifteen under the Rugby Union rnles. The weather was fine, and it is estimated that fully 10,000 spectators were present. In the first spell the native team had the best of the play, and had the local team pinned in their 25 most of the time. There was no score in this spell, but the natives were forced down on one occasion. In the second spell the visitors played with great dash, and F Keogh, Smiler, and H. Lee each obtained a try, none of which were, however converted, the game resulting in a win for the native team by three tries to nil.
