OCEAN MAILS.
definite decision has yet been arrived Be by the Cabinet respecting the Ocean j»tail Service. The matter has, however, Poem under consideration several times and it is almost certain that a Pacific service will be recommended by the Government, and it will be either the San Francisco or Vancouver route, and most probably the latter, as it is very unlikely that the Imperial Government will continue a subsidy to the San Francisco service but there is reason to believe they would contribute to the Vancouver line. The Government are not likely to recommend two services. This question will be the first business discussed by the House after the Native Bills and will take precedence of the Works Statement.
