PARNELL AND THE TIMES.
London, August 7. The "Tpimes" has accepted Mr Pamelas challenge, and has published the Irish Local Government and Coercion Bill which it is alleged were not accepted by the last Cabinet. Sydney, August 8. A man named Smith has been arrested at Babrand, on a charge of attempting to poison one named Lane a publican. Another man named Boss and a woman, stated that Smith was jealous of the latter, and put strychnine in the man's food. All the victims poisoned recovering. & . Brisbane, August 8. A young woman was brutally outraged, at Jooloongable. She states that the offence was committed by two men. The offenders have not yet been arrested. Perth, W.A., August 8. Jarvis, the bushranger, has been captured near Freemantle. He attempted to fire at arresting Constable and the latter fired in self-defence, wounding Jarvis in the shoulder, the wound is not dangerous. Melbourne, August 3. Mary Keinson, a young single woman, is arrested on a charge of child murder. It is alleged she threw the child into a water-hole.
