THE MAIL SERVICE.
Christclmrcli, Thursday. It is stated that the New Zealand Shipping Company and Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company are completing arrangements to tender for a Direct Mail Service fortnightly each, on such terms as to yield considerable profit to the colony. It is in contemplation to allow, passengers travelling by both lines the privelege of stopping enroute and continuing their journey by the steamers of either line.
