ODDFELLOWSHIP.
On Tuesday evening last the half yearly meeting of the Loyal Whangarei Lodge, No. 6,431 was held in the Oddfellows Hall, Hunt-street. After the ;usual routine business, the interesting' ceremony of installing the N.G., V.G., and Elective Secretary was gone through. P.G. Eccles officiated as installing master, assisted by P.G. Jones. On this occasion the honour has fallen on Bros. H. Cheeseman, N.G. ; C. Eyles, V.G. ; and A. McLeod, Elective Secretary. The above named have always discharged their duties in relation to other offices of the Lodge in a remarkable efficient manner, and there is little doubt that harmony and • prosperity will attend their administration. The offices were filled as follows :— Bro. J. K. Vail, G.M. ; Bro. H. Cheeseman, N.G. ; C. Eyles, V.G.; Bros. W. A. Carruth, US. and J. Pearson, L.S. to N.G.; Bros. A. Scott, R.S. and P. Dando, L.S. to V.G. ; Bro. T. Lee, "Warden ; Bro. W. McDonald, Guardian ; Bro. W. A. Carrutb, Treasurer ; Bro. E. "Williams, Secretary ; and Bro. A. McLeod Elective Secretary. The Lodge then adjourned to harmony, and the members amused themselves in various ways audafew songs were rendered j during the interval. On resuming, P.G. Ecclos presented a P G.M. emblem to P.M. Jones, on behalf of the members of the Loyal Whangarei Lodge of Oddfellows, Manchester Unity, Auckland District, who is about to leave our midst as a token for his past services, ands the interest he has always taken in promoting the welfare of this Lodge. Bro. Jones, when accepting the emblem thanked the members, and said ho considered this a great honour conferred on him, and that wherever he resided he would always have the Loyal Whangarei Lodge at heart, and he wished them every success and prosperity in; the future. The Lodge was then closed in the usual form in peace and harmony at 10 p.m., until Tuesday, July 10th.
