fFrom our own Corresponent.) THE Eev. J. H. Hawkes preached here on Sunday, 26th inst., in the morning an impressive sermon to a full congregation. Thursday, March 22nd, is the day fixed for the valedictory soiree to the Eev. J. Dukes, from whom we are about to part with great regret. In the evening a concert will be given, fho proceeds to clear debt due to the district steward, Mr Geo. Gunson, the arrears being about £5. Our neighbours in Mareretu had a large gathering at the opening of the Wesleyan Chapel.which was in every way a success. Several persons went from here, and a few passed through from Maungakaramea.
