WHANGAREI FOOTBALL CLUB.
A meeting took place in the Commercial Hotel on Friday evening at 8 p.m. Mr Cooke in the chair. Present: Messrs M.Steadman, Pearson, Maelrin, Simpson, E. Dent, E. Tothill, W. Tothill, and Love. Accounts were read, showing a balance of £1 11/3, and were passed as correct. Mr Cooke proposed and Mr E. Tothill seconded "That Mr M. Steadman be Secretary for ensuing year." Carried. Proposed by M. Steadman, seconded by Mr Dent, "That Messrs Carruth, Cooke, Culpan, TottSU, Dent, and Secretary be a commijfcfee." Carried. Proposed by Mr Cooke, seconded by Mr MacMn, " That Mr E. Thompson be President of Society. Carried. Proposed by Mr Tothill, seconded by Mr Steadman "That Messrs Bain and Loram be vice-presidents. Carried. Proposed by Mr Steadman "That Messrs Anforth, Eeyburn, Davidson, Pullman, Kelson, Love, Nolan and Dickson be elected members." Seconded by Mr Dent and carried. Mr Cooke moved " That the Secretary write and acquaint Mr Thompson with the'fact that he had been elected President, and also to ask him if he would grant the Club the use of his paddock for practices." Seconded by Mr Dent and carried;*' This ended the business.
