A SUGGESTED CONFERENCE

The Maoriland Worker stands for the fullest' understanding and agreement between the _political and industrial.wings■ of. the Labour Movement, this being in The Worker's opinion essential to successful action on the part of each. . We therefore suggest that, at tlie earliest moment, a conference of representatives ef both wings should be held to determine a joint policy of action. Such a conference might be -held in January -with little expense and inconvenience to the movement. The sitting of Parliament will ensure that "the Labour M.P.s will be in Wellington, while the conference of the Alliance of Labour which meets on January 26 will be attended by Union delegates from all parts of New Zealand. The situation in January will thus present such an opportunity for a Conference as should not be missed. Will somebody give a lead with a proposal that- the Alliance of.. Labour, the Parliamentary Labour Party, the Trades i and Labour- Council and . the .National , Executive .of the Labour Party meet in conference next month to formulate plans to meet the immediate necessities of I the workers-? The election- re-I-suits are clearly against wageI cutting. The workers are uniting against the exploiters, and they want leadership. A conference along the lines suggested should be organised to give it to them.
