J. P. Larson, of Maxwclltowu, writes:-—The elections aro being talked about now, a.nd pcoplo aro beginning to ask who is going to stand for this party and who for tho other. Well, up here iv tho Patea electorate, tho Liberal and Reform candidates have their committees at work, but all I can bear about a Labor candidate are a few odd rumors. If the Labor Party think,, of contesting tho Patea seal, I think it is high time it got going, as it is a fairly largo electorate to organise. If it. does not intend to put up a man, we ought to know what attitude to adopt towards other candidates. If there is any information available on this subject, 1 shall b. pleased to receive it.
