BRANCH FORMED AT MIRAMAR

A. few enthusiasts; thinking it high time that a Labor I'arty organisation should be brought into existence in Mirainar in. order to assist in the defeat of Tory Wright aT.d in the general effort to better human conditions, got into touch with the Wellington L.fJ.C. with tbe result that a public meeting was held in tho local Town Hall on Thursday evening last. The attendance was fair. The meeting was presided over by Mr. Carter awl addressed by Messrs. X\ Eraser, M-l'- »ud tb» Labor candidate for tho .Suburbs, Mr. Croskery. '.tipth speakers dealt fully with the case for Labor aud received a very sympathetic hearing. At the conclusion of the speeches it wit., decided to form a branch of Clio Party, and thy following were elected: President, Mr. ,!. Anderson. Secretary, M.rs. M. Thorn; Committee, \l.os._rs. Kins, Davidson, Butler, Adams, O'.Linen ati'.l Mi-s L. Anderson. Memb___ Ssccured. at the meeting together with those who had joined previously give the branch a membership of 40 to begin with. Steps are being taken to affiliate tho branch with the- national organisation. A meeting of the b.rarjch will be held shortly to formulate pjans for future action and all Worker riders in the district are invited to join at once.
