OUR SOCIALIST FRIENDS.

Many people, and some newspaper® , , who really know better, have classed! the anti-militarist movement a-s a Socialist organisation. • This has beeui done in many cases with the idea of frightening good, timid who' seem to be afraid of Socialism, and who* have probably never come in contact! with a genuine exponent of the doc-, trdnes of Socialism. We'are not Socialists, and the anti-militarist movement! is not a Socialist movement. The Socialists, however, are all anti-militar-ists, more credit to them, and we welcome them and any other organisationi that has the courage of its convictions? to stand up for what they think is right and in the best interests of their, fellow men. We have been brought initf close touch with the Socialists, and \y«i find them totally different from what! many would have us believe. The foundation of their creed, if they have one, is Love, and on this foundation! which, after all, is the true foundation, they build their structure. You cannot be loug with them before you feel the love radiating out, and you are struck! I>y their earnestness and sincerity. They are thinkers. Some of them, n<* doubt feel deeply the wrongs of so ciety ? and are plain spoken in their denunciation of class legislation. And if one ponders"'a little, one will be lesfli likely to blame where one should pity., Socialists are not seeking to filch fromj anyone that which belongs to him, butJ rather that everyone should have a Juirti share of the fruits of his labors.—Th«i ' 'Anti-militarist."
