SOLDIER’S FAREWELL

SGT. T. HENDERSON

Sgt. T Henderson and Mrs Henderson were the guests of honour at an evening held in Mr and Mrs J. Duncan’s residence on Wednesday evening last. Mr A. Burton of behalf of Soldiers ’ Farewell Committee made a presentation to Sgt. Henderson. He stated that the committee had had too short a notice to arrange a social evening but he could assure Sgt. Henderson of the district’s appreciation and best wishes and had much pleasure in handing him a presentation on their behalf. He also extended best wishes to Mrs Henderson. On behalf of the Returned Soldiers of the district, Mr Burton made a presentation carrying with it the best of luck and good wishes from the diggers of 191418.

Sergeant Henderson suitably replied and those assembled joined in singing “For They’re Jolly Good Fellows.’ ’
