LONDON SALES CONCLUDED. prices close firm. London, March 16. At the wool sales 5,866 bales were offered, of which 5,138 were from New Zealand. About 5000 bales were soldNew Zealand greasy crossbred, “Waihckc,” top 15|d, average 12 Id; slipe half-bred lambs, “ W.F.M.,” 18d and ißfd. The sales closed firm. Compared with February closing rates, merino and broader-haired styles were barely 5 per cent, lower. Scoured fleece bulky pieces were unchanged- Short scourods declined 5 per cent., carbonising wools 15, cross-bmis—fine 5, medium and coarse 10; dipes, medium and coarse, 5, but were- unchanged. The total number of bales catalogued was 76,396, which w<'resold as follow: —Home, 32,000; Continent, 34,000; held over. 52,000.
