WHAT THE MAN AT THIS CORNER SAYS.
That Roxburgh will be a busy town on Saturday of this week if the local trotting club is favoured with a fine day for the holding of their second annual trotting meeting. That most of the horses competing will be visitors and should provide keen racing during the day. That the Tuapeka cricket team easily defeated South at Balclutha on Saturday and brought homo the Crosby-Morris Cup. That with the change in the wea:her conditions, and with the end of the warm weather in sight, winter sports are now being prepared for, and it will not be very long now before bowls, tennis, and cricket are replaced by golf, football and hockey. That the local Aero Club held a very successful working bee at the Aero ground on Friday last when quite a lot of good work was done in clearing the ground of loose stones, etc. That the members are showing great keenness to get the club going in earnest, and intend to hold another working bee as soon as possible to put i further work iu cleaning up the landing ground.
