THEFT FROM CHURCH
SACRED VESSELS STOLEN. Auckland, March 15. On Wednesday night the Roman Catholic Church of the Assumption at Onehunga was broken into and ttvo sacred vessels valued at £3O were stolen. The back door of the church had been forced open. Further investigation disclosed that the lock of the inner door leading to the sacristy had been forced. There w'ere five chalices in the room—three of silver and two gilded. The two latter are missing, the chief obviously having mistaken them for solid r>U .
