ROBBERY UNDER ARMS.
WOMAN THE RINGLEADER. SENTENCE OF SEVEN YEARS. Wellington, September 10. Seven years, with hard labour, was the sentence imposed by the Chief justice on both Jack Morton and Florence Cooper, on charges of robbery under arms. He said his first impression was that sentence would not be less than ten years, but he took account of the fact that the prisoners were youag. To counsel for the prisoners his Honour said the suggestion had come from the woman, and she was the worst of the two.
