Recovery of Wm. Gunn's Body.

Ever since the sad event on the 28th of last Slay, when Mr Wm, Gudh lost his life in a snow storm on the Old Man Range, several search parties have been out from time to time looking for the body. On Tuesday Donald Gunn, son of the deceased, and Patrick Riordan again went out to search, and they found the body of the missing man buried in the snow about 300 yards from the gate and the upper shelter shed, about 100 yards east of the track, and about 300 yards nearer the shed than where the horses were found. The body was covered by about a foot of snow at the time. It was brought in at once, and on Wednesday THE INQUEST waa held before Mr J. Burton, J.P., acting coroner, and the following jury : -Messrs Wm. Craig (foreman), A. Ree, Wm. Varcoe, Campbell Watson, H. J. Walles, and H. Martin. The evidence of Wm. Gunn and D. G. Gunn (sons of deceased), P. Riordan and Constable Fouhy, which waa taken, disclosed the facts given in this paper at the time of the late Mr Gunn's death. After the evidence was heard the jury brought in the following verdict: " That the said William Gunn, on or about the 28th day of May, 1897, while travelling with pack horsei over the Old Man Range, during a heavy snowstorm and through the inclemency of the weather did accidentally, casually, and by misfortune come to hii death, and not otherwiße.''
