End-of-year Party For Dancing Students
Happy children’s voices rang round the Broadway School of Dancing last evening the occasion being break-ing-up party of the tinies, junior and intermediate classes. The studio was gay with flowers, troughs of lilies and roses reflected in mirrors, also tall vases of Iceland poppies being most effective. The principal, Miss Gwen Gibbs, wearing a frock of navy and white sheer with white eyelet embroided collar, received the young guests and was assisted by Misses Lorna Winks, C. Jones, P. Wilson, It. James and B. Shirley. Games occupied the time very happily and the young people were greatly entertained by the miming of Misses Winks, Jones and Wilson, to demonstrate the good and the bad pupil,, and the perfect teacher. There was a real party tea with a fine pink and white Christmas cake conspicuously decorated with B.S.D. A lolly scramble was entered into with zest and at an appropriate moment the baby of the class, Janice Waterson, presented Miss Gibbs with a Christmas gift (handsomo book ends) as an appreciation from the students. “Auld Lang Syne” and cheers with an exchange of soasonal greetings brought proceedings to a close. Another presentation from a group of A.S.O.D. girls, “Joyce, Peg, Lorna and Robyn,” as an appreciation of the knowledge passed on and the inspiration given by Miss Gibbs week by week, touched her very much.
Remember this! Buchanan’s “Holly” Oatmeal or Rolled Oats are the new pojmlar breakfast cereals—pre-cooked to preserve that delicious nutty flavour.
