Final Meeting of St. Paul’s Ladies’ Guild

At the November meeting of St. Paul 7 s Guild lady members of tne Church were entertained. The stage had been artistically decorated by a committee. Songs by Miss G. Laurenson, accompanied by Mrs. Jones, were enjoyed, and Mrs. P. Shearman recited in her usual pleasing manner. A talk on reminiscences of his life while a captain in the Salvation Army was given by Colonel McCauley, of Feilding. The entertainers and the speaker were thanked by Mrs. W. B. Cameron. Invitations from the Cuba Street Guild for all the members to attend its next, meeting, and from the League of Mothers for two members to attend its December gathering were received. a freewill offering for guild funds m place of special money raising functions, which was received during tJio afternoon, amounted to £55. Afternoon tea was served by members. As the guild is to go into recess till February, Mrs. J. F. Jack took the opportunity to wish all present the compliments of the season. Mrs. Maurice Sinclair of Alan Street, returned to Palmerston North this morning after a holiday spent in Nelson. Fellow-members of the W.R.N.S. formed a guard of honour for Leading Wren Patricia Jowett when she left the Cathedral Church of St. Paul, Wellington, on Saturday afternoon after her marriage to Flight Lieutenant Harold Ilamerton, D.F.C. The bride is the only daughter of Mr. Harold Jowett and or Mrs. Jowett, Chief Commander, W.A.A.C., of Wellington, and the bridegroom, who served with the No. V 5 (Bomber) Squadron, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. R.
