Increase in Wages For Soccer Players
Received Tuesday, 7.50 p.m. LONDON, Nov. 13. It is officially announced that after a meeting at Manchester between the management and players’ delegates, Association footballers will not strike. The players’ maximum wages have been increased from £8 to £9 a match. Payments from £1 to £5 compensation for injuries will be paid according to the workmen’s Compensation Act.
