(From Our Own Correspondent.) Brilliant sunshine greeted tho Rang! otu Calf Club day on Thursday last, and the beautifully laid-out lawns ana gardens made a restful background for the large crowd which attended. Mr. C. M. Hyde (Kairanga) and Mr. J. Baker, Junr. (Bainesse), were the judges. Mrs. Bond presented the Bond Cup to Joyce Cooksley for senior care and attention, whilst the two silver medals donated by Mr. N. Alsop and Mr. C. N. Rose were presented to the winners, Masters Lawrence 1 Hart and Stewart Skeets by Mr. I. W. Mudford (Board of Education) who also made all other presentations, each child getting his or her full measure of encouragement and congratulations. The ladies of the district provided afternoon tea. Prior to the calf judging and afterwards, the school was thro.vn open to the public to witness the various competitions and results of tho children’s efforts throughout the year. The judges for the indoor work were Mesdames Saunders and Wilkinson, of Glen Oroua. Friends will be pleased to learn that Miss Eleanor Moore, who recently entered a private hospital to undergo an operation, is progressing favourably.
