Foxton
(From Our Own Correspondent.) Members of the Foxton Women 's Institute Drama Circle travelled to Tokomaru on Tuesday to take part in a Drama Festival. There were four in- j stitutes competing, Shannon, Tokomaru, Foxton and Opiki. Tokomaru was awarded first prize with Foxton second. I A member of the Foxton cast, Eva Wolis, was awarded the prize for the. best performance. Theso plaj-s are to | be presented at Foxton on November 13 at S p.m. in the Anglican Sunday School j room. Members of the institute and' public are cordially invited to attend. Mr. R. Cull, of Park Street, is spending a few weeks in Rotorua. Mrs. F. Marshall, of Robinson Street,' has returned homo after holidaying in > Wellington. Mr. F. Carnie, local stationmaster, is on annual loave. Mr. Grantham is acting in a relieving capacity. Mr. and Mrs. R. G. Lloyd have returned to Christchurch after spending a holiday in Foxton as the guest of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Irons, of Park Street. Friends of Mr. A. Cook, of Futter Street, will bo pleased to know that there is an improvement in his condition although it may be some weeks before he is able to leave hospital. Mrs. J. Clark, of Park Street, is on holiday in Wellington. Friends of Mrs. A. E. Cook, of Sanson (formerly of Foxton) will be pleased to learn that she is home from hospital.
