FEILDING ADVERTISEMENTS BOROUGH OF FEILDING. VICTORY CELEBRATIONS. AUGUST, 1945 1. Immediately the news is received it will be made known by the ringing of church bells, fire bell and the sounding of whistles. The public are requested to gather in front of the Council Chamber from the steps of which approximately one hour thereafter the official proclamation will be made. 2. If the news is received before 12 noon then that day: (a) United Thanksgiving Service in Manchester Square at 2.30 p.m. (b) Torchlight procession that evening, commencing 7 p.m., endup in Manchester Square with concert, community singing and open air dancing. The next, day: (a) Procession commencing 11 a.m. to Kowhai Park where a sports programme will be held for the school children. (b) Victory Dance that evening in Drill Hall at 8.30 p.m. 3. If the news is received after 12 noon then that day: (a) Unofficial celebrations in afternoon. (b) Torchlight procession in evening as above, commencing 7 p.m. The next day: (a) Citizens’ Thanksgiving Service as above at 10 a.m. (b) Procession at 1 p.m. to Kowhai Park. The following day: (a) Free Pictures in both Theatres for school children. (b) Victory Dance in Drill Hall that evening, at 8.30 p.m. 4. Any change in programme will be, notified in the Press or over 2ZA. 5. Marshalls: Capt. Cr., C. B. McClure M.C., Traffic Inspector C. H. Fippard and Major K. M. Little. ORDER OF PROCESSION. ■T’HE following will be the Order of Procession for the Victory Celebrations: — Feilding Municipal Band, A.T.C., R.S.A., H.S.A., Home Guard, E.P.S., W.W.S.A., Red Cross, St. John Ambulance, Boy Scouts, Girl Guides, Other Organisations. Salvation Army Band, Mayor and Councillors, County Chairmen and Councillors, Representatives of the Maori Race, High School Pupils, Fire Brigade, Friendly Societies, Trade Unions, Stock Firms, Private Decorated Vehicles. This order refers to the main daylight jH'ocession and not to the Torchnight processions. If the news is received before NOON, those taking part in the procession are required to parade on the day following at 10.45 a.m. in Stafford Street and if received afternoon, they will parade on the day following at 12.45 p.m. Torchlight processions will form up in Stafford Street at 7 p.m. on the day the news is received. For the first time over a period of five years the sons of Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Allen, of Feilding, Gordon and Jack (Navy) and Joe (Army) are enjoying a reunion at their home in Denbigh Street. The Chinese community of Feilding will in all probability be participating in the Victory celebrations. Yesterday representatives were invited to take part and it is understood that they wish to be identified with the proceedings.
