Boxing
(Per Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, Aug. IS. In a scheduled 12-round professional boxing contest tonight Laurie Bolger (10.6), of Mataura, knocked out Ken Wright (10.BJ, of Timaru, in the tenth round. Bolger had a decided advantage in the last four or five rounds and over the last three had Wright down for counts of seven and eight (twice) and ten. Wright rose groggily at 1(1 in the tenth but the referee declared him counted out. It was a good bout and was watched by a big crowd.
