Rongotea

(From Our Own Correspondent.) A cheerful and thankful atmosphere was evident at the Y T E Day celebrations a t Rongotea on Wednesday afternoon. Fine weather prevailed and the Coronation Hall was crowded. Mrs. C. S. Hamlin presided at the organ and led the singing. Members of the R.B.A. were present in goodly numbers. With the memories of many loved ones still overseas and the conditions that exist in Europe still fresh in their minds, people gathered with a seriousness of purpose and entered heartily into the spirit of the combined service. Rev. H. Bpencer (Methodist), was in the chair and supported on the platform by Revs. X. S. Barnett (Anglican), E. R. Alexander (Presbyterian) and Mr. N. F. Rowe (Brethren). The National Anthem was sung and then followed the hymn “All people that on earth do dwell. M Prayers were read by Rev. Barnett. Mr. Rowe read the Scripture lesson and offered prayer, then came the hymn “O God our help in ages past.” The address was given by Rev. Alexander. The hymn “O God of Bethel” and the Benediction closed an inspiring service. Sa^e P°Ppies by members of the R.-S.A. in R-ongotea realised £2O.
