Obituary

AIRS. R. C. TENNENT Airs. Robert Collings Tennont, daughter of tho late Dr. Leonard Boor, of Wellington and Nelson, died in Wellington on Saturday in her 91st year. She arrived in Wellington in 1856 with her father, who took up land where AXasterton now stands. He gave up farming to resume practice of his profession in the Hutt Valley and later in Wellington. In the seventies he became medical superintendent of the Nelson Hospital, where ho remained till his death. Airs. Tennent was married in Nelson to the late Robert Collings Tennent. He was in the service of the Bank of New South Wales, and they lived, among other places, in Patea, in tho pioneering days of Taranaki, Wanganui, Auckland, Blenheim, Timaru, Dunedin and Invercargill. He died in Woodville five years ago. There arc five sons still living: Alajor L. C. Tennent, Salisbury, Southern Rhodesia; Air. H. D. Tennent, Dunedin; Mr. H. C. Tennent, Honolulu; Air. K. B. Tennent, Nelson; Colonel A. A. Tennent, Wellington. Another son, Mr. R. V. Tenneat, died in 1918. Two sons served in the Boer War, four in the Great War, and three in tho present war. Surviving daughters are Mrs. Wybrants Olphert, Wellington, and Mrs. N. Bramson, Te Araroa. The late Airs. P. H. Alules, Woodville, was also a daughter. There are IS grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
